Orangutans (Pongo abelii, Pongo pygmaeus) are critically endangered. The Tapanuli orangutan is most threatened, with less than 800 estimated to be left in the wild, according to the World Wildlife Fund. Deforestation, hunting, and conflict with humans are the greatest threats to orangutans. A portion of all our proceeds at Jungaloo is donated to the World Wildlife Fund to assist conservation efforts for the distinctive orangutan and other endangered species.
